The North Central Regional Solid Waste Cooperative
(NCRSWC) known as MassToss was established on April 1, 2005 when the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts made grant monies available to establish a
regional recycling and waste cooperative. Several neighboring
communities took advantage of this opportunity and joined together to
form MassToss. The purpose of the cooperative is to provide technical
assistance to its member communities in all areas of recycling and solid
waste handling. This includes, but is not limited to negotiating and
facilitating contracts such as recycling, collection, hauling, hazardous
waste removal, transfer station contracts, site permit and regulation
inspections, and grant applications. The cooperative has a director, Tessa David.
